Arun, Bishnu, Raj and Prince made our trek amazing. They went above and beyond to make sure we were safe, happy and had the most amazing time. Arun taught us so much about the Nepali culture and answered all our questions honestly and thoroughly. He made sure we had everything we needed each day and helped with dietary restrictions and allergies. Bishnu is a trekking machine, he also recognized who needed help on what day and payed very close attention to our safety (more than once he had to catch me as I fell). On the night before we crossed Thorongla Pass he didn’t sleep because he hiked for 4 hours, in the dark to help one of our fellow travelers who suffered from altitude sickness back down the mountain so he could be airlifted back to Kathmandu. An unfortunate event that had nothing to do with the aptitude of our guides but was handled very safely and quickly. Raj and Prince, our porters, had smiles on their faces all the time, high fived us at the end of each day and carried an amount of weight that amazed me. Today is our last full day of the trek, we are in Pokhara at the moment and I feel so grateful for this amazing experience and at the same time I am so very sad to see it end. I can’t put into words how much I am going to miss my Nepali family and how much I recommend this trek with these beautiful people.

We just completed the 15-day Annapurna Circuit trek with Nepal Eco Adventure and were blown away by the whole experience. The company is super organized and Chhatra, the Business Manager, is professional and kind. He answered all of our questions before the trek, making us feel confident and safe. Nepal Eco Adventure gave us the gear we needed and took care of all of our permits, lodging, food, and transportation. Our guide, Raj, was absolutely sensational. He went above and beyond what we expected of a guide. Not only was his English excellent and his knowledge of the region extensive, but he made sure we were safe and happy in big and small ways. He checked our oxygen daily, provided us with medication and first aid when we needed it, gave us fresh fruit after every dinner, made sure we had tea whenever we were cold, sang with us on the trail, and laughed at all of our jokes. He is funny, kind, thoughtful, trustworthy, motivating, and hardworking – the best guide we’ve ever met. Additionally, we couldn’t have done this trek without our strong and fearless porter, Hari Chandra. He always had a smile on his face and was beyond helpful – without him our backs would have been broken! We loved getting to know both Raj and Hari Chandra and together it felt like one big family! We highly recommend Nepal Eco Adventure to anyone wanting a safe, meaningful, fun, and transformative experience! We just completed the 15-day Annapurna Circuit trek with Nepal Eco Adventure and were blown away by the whole experience. I completed the Annapurna Circuit Trek with two others in March/April 2018. Without any undue hyperbole, it was probably the best thing I’ve ever done in my life so far. The trek was fantastic, the views without peer, and the guiding was absolutely brilliant. We were lead by Kumar, whose humour and experience ensured that morale was always sky high. He was assisted by Bishnu and Subash (porters), who were also fantastic. There was never a question they couldn’t answer, and the fruit platters they provided each evening were the envy of all other trekking groups we encountered en route. Altitude was never an issue – we had regular rest stops, acclimatisation days and daily oxymeter checks to ensure that our blood oxygen levels were fine (this was very reassuring). I would not hesitate to book again and I am very grateful to Kumar, Bishnu and Subash for making our trip as good as it absolutely could be.

I did the Annapurna circuit trek with Nepal Eco Adventure, with Chhatra as my guide. He was recommended to me by a friend. Cchatra really made the trip so wonderful, he had all the details down to a tee, he was very accommodating and knowledgeable, as well as being a true professional he is also so genuine and great fun! I also felt his insight into the country was really interesting. The two week trek was some experience, the scenery was stunning, the people we met along the way and accommodation we stayed in, were really lovely. We also had a great porter. I felt that by choosing Nepal Eco Adventure, that our experience could not have been bettered in any way. The trip was one of the best I’ve ever been on anywhere in the world, and the expense (which was very reasonable) was so worth every rupee!! Would definitely recommend them and would love to do a trip with them in the future again 🙂

I did the Annapurna Circuit with Nepal Eco Adventure and cannot recommend Chhatra and his team highly enough. Chhatra knows what Western travellers want and need. He is intelligent, informative, wise, careful and a mine of information about Nepal, its history and customs. He also has a fabulous team of porters and guides to back him up, who made the trip for us as much as the incredible scenery, walking and our fellow trekkers. Not only are you safe in Chhatra’s extremely experienced hands but you will have a truly incredible time. I have been to the Himalayas twice, I long to go back – and when I do it will be with Nepal Eco Adventure.

Our experience with Nepal Eco Adventure was fantastic!
As we were coming to Nepal right at the end of dry season (early June), we were not sure which trekk would be the best option at that time.
Mr Chhatra helped us and guided in planning the trip since the early beginning.

During the trekk our guide Arun and our porter Yadab were really helpful and friendly.

Arun told us many interesting facts about the region and lokal nature that we would never guess. He also consulted with us and adviced on any possible modification from the standard itinerary (i.e. because of weather condition, our tiredness etc.). Traveling with him felt like traveling with a good friend with much more experience and broader knowledge about the himalayas. It is also important to note that his english was really good and we had no problems in communication (which is not a guarantee in Nepal). He also provided us with iodine tablets when we ran out of ours.

Yadab is an incredible guy with a huge sense of humor (always smiling). He was a great addition to our trekk and with his knowledge and superhuman strength (!) I would definietly recommend him for both a guide and/or a porter.

In the final days of our trekk mr Chhatra arranged for us a return flight ticket from Pokhara to Kathmandu so we could skip the exhausting 8 hours bus trip (he booked and paid for the tickets in advance).

All together, I strongly recommend the Nepal Eco Adventure office and well as the guide and porter that were with us throughout the journey!!

Chhatra Karki is a completely trustworthy and extremely knowledgeable guide with an infectiously cheerful nature.

Chhatra has minimal overheads and his small and professional company provided excellent value for money, in comparison to the larger trekking organizations.
I have just completed the Annapurna Circuit with friends; Phil and Anita Kane, Andy Jackson, Matt Hannaway, a swell as my two teenage sons Sam and Harry. I am sure I speak for all in praising Chhatra’s English which allowed him to answer our many questions, becoming the link to the Nepalese people and their culture.

The trek was arduous and reached a height of 5416 meters as we crossed the Thorung La Pass, a real test as we were a group of mixed ability, fitness, experience and age. Chhatra was always aware of the risks and put our wellbeing first at all times. The 17 day trek was a huge success for us all. When we returned to Kathmandu we socialized with him and his family and he also showed his versatility by acting purely as a guide to the city, visiting all the main tourist attractions.

I do hope you decide to use him as we did and benefit from his dedication, knowledge and best of all his sense of humor.

Andy Jackson I did the Annapurna Circuit with Chhatra and a small group in November 2009 in 17 days. I had not met Chhatra before but he came recommended through a guide I had used previously. The whole group had a fantastic time thanks to his efforts. He is utterly trustworthy, knowledgeable, competent and adjusts to provide whatever the group needs. I felt that at all times, he was there to make our trip a success – if we wanted to have a slow day or stay somewhere different, nothing was too much trouble and he would arrange it. His English is fluent and he takes trouble to explain everything and answer any questions, demonstrating his excellent knowledge of culture, wildlife, mountaineering and cuisine! He provided a seamless link between the group and the Nepali culture.
I was impressed in the way that he would be with the group whenever we needed but allow us to feel that we were not always ‘guided’ – his experience in anticipating what we needed made the difference. He is good fun to trek with.

I’m sure that there are other great guides in the region but I felt that Chhatra brought us closer to Nepali culture and ensured our safety in a way I could not imagine being improved on. I also felt that 100% of his trekking fees were worth it and, more importantly, would be invested in-country by someone who had the nations interest at heart.
I will definately be going back and will use Chhatra again!

In November 2009 we spent an unforgettable time trekking the Annapurna Circuit with Chhatra as our guide. Chhatra has many qualities to recommend him. In the first place, his English is excellent. Many of the guides we encountered leading trekkers in the region were not nearly as fluent, with the consequence that their groups didn’t benefit as much from the guide’s knowledge as they could have. Chhatra’s attitude to safety was also first rate. He advised us on the most reliable food to eat, where and how to get safe water along the way and recommended we attend an altitude lecture before crossing the Thorung La high pass which was well worth while. His knowledge of the route, places to stay, flora and fauna were all exemplary. Along the way we talked and learned about Nepali history, politics, geography, geology – just about anything, really! Chhatra was interested in learning about where we came from too. He also had a particular aptitude for ‘managing’ the group. He was very aware of our various moods, who was tired, who wanted to walk faster or slower, who felt unwell, and taking everything into account set a timetable that was appropriate in catering for the needs of all seven of us, without us really having to say anything. That said, he was not at all dogmatic and gave us a lot of space to decide just what we wanted to get out of the trip. Chhatra was thoroughly professional but also has a great sense of humour and we had a lot of laughs along the way. A guide is such an integral part of your trip to Nepal – choose wisely!!!

Having just returned to the UK from 3 weeks trekking in the Annapurna Region I wanted to tell you a little about my experiences there. The most important detail if you are thinking of going trekking is a good guide good Agency and I can highly recommend our lead guide Chhatra Karki His Trekking Agency Nepal Eco Adventure. He organizes the trip and accommodation while trekking and is full of helpful information to make your experience in Nepal second to none.

I was the novice in a large group all attempting the Annapurna circuit crossing Throung La pass. From the moment we met, Chhatra was amazing. He met us at the airport and arranged hotels in Kathmandu and all the transportation. The lodges along the trek were pri-booked by him so we never had to walk to the next village for accommodation. Each night, Chhatra gave a description of the following days trek with things to look out for, advice on weather and general information relevant to each days walking. He spent time telling us about Nepal in respect to politics, development and culture and this was never dull or ill received. It proved to be very interesting and gave me far greater insight into life in Nepal. I noted that Chhatra spent time with each of my fellow trekkers, gauging ability and simply getting to know them. He was interested in who we were too. He was funny with a great sense of humor and was very easy to talk to. We had an assistant guide, Rajesh who helped with cooking, advice and had the most beautiful singing voice. Often he would sing beautiful Nepalese songs while he worked. He was able to assist one of our group who, due to altitude sickness had to go back down. She had a great time with him and was escorted to meet us on the other side of the pass. She always felt safe. Chhatra had a group of young strong men who were our porters. It was reassuring to find them equipped for changing weather and their health and well being as important as ours. They were supplied with Diamox if they needed it and their O2 saturation levels were monitored daily as were ours. They were a great group of men who were very happy to see us succeed every day. By the end of the trek it felt like old friends were waiting for us at the lodges each day 🙂 One aspect that was really important to me was the fact that there was no large company skimming off money that could have gone to those doing the work. All the money I paid went directly to the porters which benefited them greatly. Chhatra was very fair and encouraged the porters to continue with their learning so that they can have the opportunity to become guides themselves. This is seen as a good career in Nepal.

I had the most amazing experience of my life and apart from the incredible natural beauty of Nepal with its mountains and rivers and wonderful people, a lot of it was due to Chhatra and his porters. This was a very well organized trip with bonuses such as 3 days in Chitwan National Park.

I highly recommend Nepal Eco Adventure and team of Chhata and would encourage those wishing to undertake trekking in Nepal to contact him. He has been trekking since he was 13 and has full experience in ALL the treks in Nepal including short, long and Everest treks.I really believe that you cant find better than Chhatra 🙂 I will definitely trek with Chhatra again.

Ps…There were 15 in our group and we are not young! Our ages ranged from 38 to 70 and we all had a great time. Do not be put off by age. Chhatra wasn’t…and he was right.
