This trek package from "Nepal Eco Adventure" takes you through various natural landscapes. Trekkers will pass through high mountain passes, serene rivers, glacial lakes, and other landmarks of Sagarmatha National Park.

Sherpa, Bhotiya, Walangpa, and Tamang are the ethnic groups in the majority in this region. Moreover, you will also get to explore various Buddhist monasteries, village settlements, and others along these trails. This trek takes you through three high mountain passes, including Kongma La Pass (5,535m), Renjo La Pass (5,385m), and Cho La Pass (5,360m).

This trek will take you to other significant landmarks of this region, including Mt. Everest Base Camp (5364m), Kalapathar (5,643m), Gokyo lakes, and others. This Everest Three High Pass trek itinerary starts from the capital city Kathmandu and takes you to Lukla on a flight.

Lukla is the entry point of the Mount Everest region for many adventurous activities like trekking and peak climbing. Phakding is our next destination on this trek. Phakding is a beautiful Himalayan settlement from where you will continue your trek to Namche Bazaar.

Moreover, the trails pass through the natural pathways of Sagarmatha National Park. There are forest trails of Rhododendron, Pine, and Oak trees. The beautiful town is a commercial hub of the region with many cafes, hotels, pubs, restaurants, and souvenir shops. The Sherpa culture and heritage will enchant travelers.

Tengboche is our destination from Namche, which is famous for the ancient monastery. Then, you will continue your journey trekking through various settlements of Dingboche. From there, we head towards Chukkung. We will finally cross Kongma La Pass to arrive at Lobuche.

We will trek from Lobuche along beautiful trails to arrive at the settlement of Gorak Shep. You will then start your trek to Everest Base Camp, where you can observe the entire vista of snow-capped mountains. There you can find colorful tented camps of climbers, especially if you travel in peak seasons.

The trail of this trek is quite challenging as you will need to trek uphill and downhill at regular intervals. Trekkers will then hike to Kala Patthar (5545m) early in the morning to get gorgeous views of Himalayan sunrise. Mt. Everest (8848.86m), Khumbutse (6636m), Pumori (7161m), Lingtren (6749m) and others are some of the mountains observable from Kalapathar.

After arriving at Kalapathar, you will explore around and take incredible pictures of the region. You will then trek to Dzongla from Kalapathar. From there, you will cross the majestic Chola pass to arrive at Dragnak. You will then travel to various Gokyo lakes and rest at Gokyo village.

From Gokyo, you will arrive at Lungden by passing through Renjo la pass. Thame is our next stop from where we will make our way to Namche Bazar. The final day of the trek takes you to Lukla from where a flight will lead you to Kathmandu. Besides that, you can also observe the endangered animal species like Snow leopard, Musk deer, Red panda, and others.

Itinerary

Day 1
Fly to Lukla(2810m) and Trek to Phakding (2610m)
Phakding Altitude: 2610m

Flight duration: 35-40 minutes

Walk duration: 3-4 hrs

Overnight: Phakding

We will take a beautiful early morning mountain flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. Moreover, this incredible flight will take you through various Himalayan landscapes. You can observe the towering mountains of the region during this flight. This flight will take you to Lukla airport, also known as Tenzing-Hillary airport (2810m).

This beautiful flight lands at one of the most dangerous airports in the world. There are various green hills, serene rivers, and snow-capped mountains that you can observe during the flight. On arriving at the airport, you will meet porters for this trek. After resting for some time, you will start your trekking journey to Phakding (2620m).

This trekking stretch from Lukla to Phakding takes around 3 hours, passing through the Dudh Kosi valley. We will then head towards the airstrip to Chheplung (2700m). From there, you will cross the serene waters of Thado Koshi on a wooden suspension bridge. You can observe the majestic views of Kusam Kanggru (6367m).

The mountain is generally considered one of the world's most challenging expeditions. The Thado Koshi trail continues further towards the Ghat (2590m). From there, you will cross a ridge covered in painted Mani stones. We will finally arrive at the beautiful Phakding, where we rest for the evening.
Day 2
Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3445m).
Namche Bazaar Altitude: 3445m

Walk duration: 4-5 hrs

Overnight: Namche Bazaar

We start our trek with a journey to Namche Bazaar from Phakding, passing through beautiful Himalayan trails. On our course, we will pass through the serene Dudhkoshi River and cross it several times through suspension bridges. Tracks on this trek remain covered in Buddhist prayer flags. After trekking through some uphill trails, we will arrive at Jorsale.

From Jorsale, it takes around two and a half hours to arrive at Namche. You can also observe the majestic views of Mt Everest if the sky remains clear. At Jorsale, you will also enter Sagarmatha National park. Therefore, you will need to show and verify your permits. We will arrive at Namche Bazaar after trekking for around 5-6 hours.
Day 3
Accimatization day at Namche Bazar
Namche Bazaar Altitude: 3445m

Overnight: Namche Bazaar

Acclimatization is essential to high-altitude trek and travel. This process will allow travelers to adapt to high-altitude conditions and the environment with ease. It is also vital to tackle altitude sickness along these trails as it can get quite challenging.

You will explore around the Khunde and Khumjung landmarks, even on acclimatization days. You can also visit the Sherpa museum and monastery, where you can observe the giant skull of "Yeti." You can observe mountains, including Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, etc.

The view from Everest View Hotel, the highest-placed mountain in the world, is quite enchanting. After having an excellent breakfast, we will trek uphill to the Syangboche airstrip (3790m). We can then observe incredible views of the Himalayas and then hike further uphill Khunde.

There is an old Chorten with other Buddhist monuments along these trails. We will then trek eastwards to Khumjung, located at the lap of Khumbila, holy peak. It is also the largest settlement in the Khumbu region. After savoring lunch at Khumjung, we will take a slow climb to Everest View Hotel. From there, you can enjoy the view of the Himalayas.

The descent leads us to Namche bazaar in the evening, exploring beautiful places in town. There are various cafes, restaurants, pubs, souvenir shops, and others.
Day 4
Trek to Tengboche(3860m)
Tengboche Altitude: 3860m

Walk duration: 5-6 hrs

Overnight: Tengboche

After breakfast, we will continue our Everest three high passes trek from Namche (3,500m) to Tengboche (3,870m). The trek distance covered in this journey is 10kms. The trails on this trek pass through rough and rugged terrain. We can observe the porters carrying their luggage along with yaks.

The narrower trail passes through steep terrain, which can be pretty challenging. You can observe various monasteries, waterfalls, rivers, suspension bridges, and others during this trek. Moreover, you will also pass through a forested trail of rhododendron and juniper trees as you trek.

Tengboche monastery is a significant monastery in the Khumbu region. After arriving at Tengboche, you can observe various snow-capped mountains from a viewpoint. We will participate in evening prayers in Tengboche monastery and rest overnight at a tea house or lodge.
Day 5
Trek to Dingboche (4390m)
Dingboche Altitude: 4390m

Walk duration: 6-7 hrs

Overnight: Dingboche

We will wake up with the spiritual sounds of the Tengboche monastery early in the morning. We will then continue our trek to Dingboche from Tengboche after breakfast. The air pressure becomes thinner as the trail moves high up along these trails. There are various other challenges, including altitude sickness.

Therefore, you should take care while trekking in these high-altitude conditions. It takes around 4-5 hours to arrive at Dingboche. We continue our trek to the ultimate destination of Everest base camp, passing through the Imja valley. We will then take a gradual climb to Pangboche village, observing the majestic mountain vista of the region.

This trail then leads you to various courses with many Buddhist landmarks, including chortens, main walls, prayer flags, and others. We will stopover to have lunch along these trails from where you can observe incredible views of Mt. Ama Dablam. The eastward course will then take you through various remote and rugged landscapes of the Imja Valley.

The moderate trail will then pass further through the valley before arriving at the Lobuche River. Then you will take a steep uphill climb to reach Dingboche. The incredible beauty of the village will enchant you along these trails.
Day 6
Trek to Chhukung (4730m)
Chhukung Altitude: 4730m

Walk duration: 3-4 hrs

Overnight: Chhukung

We will continue our journey on this Everest three-high passes trek from Dingboche to Chhukung. We will leave the stone-walled fields of Dingboche. Then we will continue our trail through the alpine landscape, passing through the Imja valley trails.

After trekking for around 1 hour through moraine walls, the trails get pretty straightforward. The trekkers will get to observe majestic views of the beautiful Island Peak. These trails lead you to Chhukung, which is also the starting point for climbers making their way to the summit of Island Peak.

You can also climb the trekking peak of Chukung Ri. You can observe majestic vista from the summit peak, including Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and others. We will trek for a few hours to arrive at Chhukung (4760m), where you can observe the up-close view of mountains. We can explore around the area at Chukung and then rest overnight at teahouses.
Day 7
Cross the Kongmala Pass (5535m) to Lobuche (4925m)
Kongma La Pass Altitude: 4730m

Walk duration: 7 to 8 hrs

Overnight: Lobuche

The trail today takes you to high mountain passes of the Everest region. Moreover, this adventurous trail is full of rugged terrains and harsh landscapes. You will have your breakfast and continue your trek to Lobuche, passing through Kongma La Pass.

You will cross the river and then take an uphill climb along the trails. Trekkers need to walk with caution as this is a landslide-prone area. The courses then get steeper until you arrive at a green hill. Then you will walk along short trails before finally making a steep ridge climb to the lake.

You will finally arrive at Kongma La Pass after taking another steep climb from the lake. This outstanding view of Lobuche will enthrall all trekkers in this region. We will finally make a challenging descent till we arrive at the Kongma la pass bottom. You arrive at Lobuche after a final climb through the Khumbu Glacier.
Day 8
Trek to Ghorekshep (5180m)-EBC (5360m) -Ghorekshep
Everest Base Camp altitude: 5360m

Walk duration: 7 to 8 hours

Overnight: Gorakshep

The trail then finally takes you to Everest base camp for the ultimate destination of this trek. We will head towards Gorakshep, a beautiful natural sand bed that once was an original base camp. First expeditioners traversed it to Mount Everest through this path. The trail then passes through the Khumbu glacier's lateral moraine. You can observe the pyramid signpost and then pass through it.

We will then do steep climbs observing inspiring Himalayan vista before arriving at Gorak Shep. Trekkers should remain careful of altitude sickness as you will reach the highest point of this trek on this day. After arriving at Gorakshep, you will keep your luggage in a teahouse before heading towards Everest base camp.

After passing through up and down trails, you will finally arrive at your destination of Everest Base Camp. The base camp of Mount Everest provides a beautiful scenario with climbers setting up their colorful tents. You can observe this, especially if you decide to trek in peak season in March to May.

You can also observe walls of tall towering mountains above 8000m in EBC. After exploring for some time and taking memorable pictures, you will head back to Gorak Shep. You will retrace the same steps that you took earlier and stay overnight in Gorakshep.
Day 9
Trek to Kalapathar for sunrise and trek to Dzonghla (4830m)
Kalapathar altitude: 5643m

Walk Duration: 7 to 8 hours

Overnight: Dzongla

You will wake up early in the morning to take a hike to Kala Patthar. This Kalapathar viewpoint is generally known for its incredible view of Mount Everest. It is also famous for and awe-inspiring views of golden sunrise overlooking an entire Everest Mahalangur range.

You will get to observe Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and other snow-capped mountains from this viewpoint. After exploring and taking incredible pictures of the region, including Mount Everest, we will retrace our steps back to Gorak Shep.

After breakfast in Gorak Shep, we will then continue our journey to Dzongla. We will continue our journey along these same trails till we arrive at Lobuche. The courses then lead you to the Lobuche Khola, from where you will trek to Dzongla. You will stay in the teahouse and prepare for crossing another high-altitude mountain pass the next day.
Day 10
Cross Chola pass (5420m) and trek down to Dragnag (4700m)
Cho La Pass altitude: 5420m

Walk Duration: 6 to 7 hours

Overnight: Dragnak

You will start your trek to another high-altitude mountain pass on this day. This trek leads you to Dragnak via Cho La Pass. You will start your journey early and in the morning, passing through steep and narrow trails. Trekkers will pass through substantial rocky boulders along the left side of the main glacier.

Then we will follow the snowfield trails to arrive at Cho La pass. This mountain pass provides you with awe-inspiring views of Ama Dablam and Baruntse. You should remain careful along these trails as there are many crevasses in these snowfields. After exploring and clicking pictures, you will take the narrow course to arrive at the beautiful Nyamagwa valley.

After having lunch, we will cross rocky boulders and take a slight uphill climb to a small saddle. After trekking for some time, we will finally descend downhill to arrive at Dragnak or Thangnak. We will rest overnight at the teahouse.
Day 11
Trek to Gokyo and visit to fifth lake and back to Gokyo (4790m)
Gokyo altitude: 4760m

Walk Duration: 5 to 6 hours

Overnight: Gokyo

This short and adventurous trek will take you to Gokyo from Thagnak. We will first visit Ngozumpa Glacier, passing through the boulder and the glacial lakes. The astounding views of Cho Oyu and Tibetan mountains are the highlight of his trek. You will finally arrive at the second lake of Gokyo after trekking for a few hours.

It takes anywhere between 45-50 minutes to arrive at Gokyo. You can explore the area and visit the fifth lake, Gokyo lake. Finally, after exploring and taking pictures, we will return and spend the night at the Gokyo teahouse.
Day 12
Cross Renjo pass (5360m) down to Lungden (4370m)
Renjo La Pass altitude: 5360m

Walk Duration: 7 to 8 hours

Overnight: Lungden

The trail takes you through various remote and rugged terrains of the Everest region. The trails pass through the northern region of Gokyo lake. You climb the scree slope and then arrive at highland pasture. The majestic views of Gokyo and neighboring views of the region will overwhelm you.

Optional: Before heading towards the Renjo La Pass, we can hike to Gokyo Ri for a stunning sunrise. The view of the mountains during the sunrise is breathtaking, it will be one of your great memories during the trip.

The trail also passes through various screens and boulders before reaching Renjo La Pass. There are many Buddhist religious prayer flags, mani walls, chortens, and others in the region. Nangpa Valley, Everest, and Makalu look incredible from this viewpoint. You will then descend along these trails and walk through loose rocks and scree.

You will trek to the glacial lake. From here, as the valley opens up, you will continue to descend open pastures before arriving at Lungden. This region has farming and cattle farming. Moreover, you can observe local people busy in their lifestyle. You will rest overnight at a teahouse in Lungden.
Day 13
Trek to Thame village (3820m) and visit Thame monastery
Thame altitude: 3820m

Walk Duration: 4-5 hours

Overnight: Thame

The trail on this day passes through remote terrains to arrive at Thame from Lungden. The relatively easy trails descend to Bhote Koshi. We will then descend to Napa Valley, passing through various settlements. After trekking at Marlung, where we will stop to have our lunch.

Following the descending trail, we will continue our journey to Taranga before arriving at Thame. This village is also known as the Tenzing Norgay Sherpa's birthplace. Thame also includes a beautiful ancient monastery that dates back to medieval times. The local people also celebrate the Mani Rimdo festival every year. You can observe this festival with locals if you arrive during the festival period.
Day 14
Trek down to Namche (3445m).
Namche altitude: 3445m

Walk Duration: 4-5 hours

Overnight: Namche

The trails of this trek are pretty short and straightforward compared to other courses in her region. This trial will take you to Namche Bazaar from Thame. We visit the ancient monastery, where you can observe religious prayers early in the morning.

We will continue descending the trails. We will drop the forested trails of rhododendron and pines. The trail then leads you alongside the rivers to arrive at Namche Bazaar. You can explore around Namche bazaar and rest in the evening at a local guest house or lodge.
Day 15
Trek down to Lukla (2830m).
Lukla altitude: 2830m

Walk Duration: 4-5 hours

Overnight: Lukla

This is the last day of your trek in the Everest Region. You will start your trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla on this day. We will cross suspension bridges and take various up and down trails before arriving at Lukla. You can explore around after arriving and stay overnight at a hotel.
Day 16
Fly back to Kathmandu.
Lukla altitude: 2860m

Flight Duration: 35-40 minutes

Overnight: Kathmandu

We will wake up early and take a scenic early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. We can observe various mountain peaks of the region for the last time through this mountain flight.

After arriving in Kathmandu, we will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. You can explore the old city or rest in your hotel. You will celebrate the completion of Everest Three Passes Trek in the evening.

Day 19: Departure


Our journey comes to an end as you can board a flight to your desired destination. Our staff representative will take you to the hotel and drop you at the Tribhuvan International airport in Kathmandu.
