Lower Dolpo Trekking
2200

Overview

Nestled between the Dhaulagiri Himalaya chain and the Tibetan plateau, Dolpo is the world’s most isolated and far-flung region. The unscathed beauty of the region will leave you spellbind and lost for words. Lower Dolpo trekking trial was opened only in the 1990 for foreigners that is why this region is very much secluded and primeval, oblivious of the land beyond the mountains.

Nepal Eco Adventure’s lower Dolpo Trekking will take you to your mystical Shangri-La, to the land of regal mountains, emerald lakes and ancient monasteries. The trek to the most isolated and remote part of the Mid-Western Region of this Himalayan country is especially suitable for the high altitude trekkers, seeking for adventure.

Shey Phoksundo National Park of Lower Dolpa by all means one of the finest national park in the world. We can spot exotic animals like Blue Sheep, Snow Leopard, and Himalayan Langur among others. Rare medicinal herb Silvery Fil.

Time has stood still in Dolpa for centuries. Dolpa is still very far-flung and remote than the rest of the country because up until recently there was no any roadway. This is why the ancient culture and the impeccable beauty of the region is very much intact.

The “world’s highest altitude dwellers” still practice the ancient animistic religion Bon Po which predates Buddhism. It is very interesting to know that in spite of rapid spread of Buddhism in Tibet and the adjacent areas in the 9th century Dolpo has very much retained its animistic religion. While in the region, we can visit numerous centuries old monasteries and Chortens. Shey Gompa, an important religious monument for the Buddhists lies in Dolpa. Be the part of ancient Bon Po and Tibetan Buddhism while in Dolpa.

Nepal Eco Adventure’s Lower Dolpo Trekking is very much suitable for avid trekkers to first timers. What’s sure is, irrespective of what part of the world you come from, the beauty of Lower Dolpa will have you spellbind.

If you are seeking for an isolated trekking route, far from the mainstream tourist-packed trekking routes, Lower Dolpa Trekking is ideal for you. The eastern and southern skyline of Lower Dolpo is covered by magnificent Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Kyangyu Ripa and Annapurna range.

There is plenty of adventure in store for the Lower Dolpa trekkers. We will pass exciting high passes, Numala Pass (5,115m) and Bagala Pass (5,100m). The view of Dhaulagiri (8,167m), once thought to be the tallest mountain of the world is seen up-close from here. At the edge of the Tibetan Plateau in the Himalayan rain shadow lies Dolpo – the fabulous & hidden undiscovered for years. The trekking experience in Lower Dolpo is truly an once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Nepal Eco Adventure’s Lower Dolpo Trekking will take you to the the isolated Himalayan kingdom, once a prosperous kingdom of kings and princes, now an epitome of poverty and remoteness.
